Cetacea is Featured in District Administration | October 2011

District Administration Product FocusKurt at District Administration wrote an article about classroom audio in October’s issue. Audio is just as important as other technology tools in the classroom. Unfortunately audio is often overlooked as technology buyers seek visual technologies like projectors, computers, whiteboards, and TV’s. Once installed it is quite apparent that the built-in speakers in these devices are inadequate for classroom learning.

Our mission is to develop products for use in challenging environments like classrooms. In other words, we do not design speakers for all environments. We design our products for these environments to solve the unique acoustic
problems inherent in classrooms.

For example, the Astronaut employs a technology patent that Cetacea developed for group listening environments. By dispersing the soundfield in an omni-directional pattern, the Astronaut speaker enables all listeners to hear the same sound regardless of where they sit. By reaching more of the audience with correct audio, we can ensure optimal intelligibility for students whether by voice amplification or recordings.
