Orbiter Software Release Version 2.0

Orbiter Pendant MicrophoneCetacea Sound Corp is releasing Version 2.0 software for its recently announced Orbiter Pendant microphone. The V2.0 software is shipping with all new Orbiters starting today. Customers who purchased Orbiter microphones between November 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011 can contact the company for a free upgrade. Call 800-556-1922 and ask for sales or technical support to arrange for the upgrade.

Orbiter Version 2.0 software adds new features and acoustic management tools, including:

  • Built-in programmable equalization
  • Built-in programmable feedback reduction
  • Built-in programmable range
  • Automatic gain biasing (an industry first)
  • Programmable auto-mute
  • Omni-directional microphone capabilities

Customers who are already using the Orbiter will find the Orbiter is now much louder before feedback and can be programmed at the factory for rooms with unusual and lively feedback characteristics.

This feature makes the Orbiter the first microphone ever developed that can be programmed to a teacher’s voice. Its high-definition radio and omni-directional microphone capabilities can pick up a teacher’s voice from three feet away which makes it possible for use with a very soft voice.

According to Jim Goetz, President and CEO of Cetacea Sound, "Our most frequent phone calls come from teachers and trainers who have very soft voices. These professionals cannot use other pendant style microphones on the market because the pick-up sensitivity just isn’t there. Our Version 2.0 Software creates a large cardioid style pick-up pattern that is not only programmable, it comes standard with a range of three feet."

The Orbiter was announced in November of 2011 as the first HD (High Definition) microphone. Using proprietary algorithms, the Orbiter transmits perfect speech intelligibility across the whole voice frequency range and nearly inaudible ground floor static compared to traditional RF microphone systems. It is also a completely secure transmission.

Combined with the new series CL and XL ceiling mounted speakers for classrooms and training rooms, or the newly improved Ensemble portable speaker system, the Orbiter is truly a world class microphone that meets the needs of schools, governments, and commercial installations.
